Live Television Coverage of the Richmond Jazz Festival

Our cinematographer James Lea spent the weekend in Richmond, VA shooting live television coverage of one of the stages at the Richmond Jazz Festival.  Thousands of attendees enjoyed performances from artists such as Maestro J, The Wailers, Michael McDonald and BWB, which featured Rick Braun, Kirk Whalum, and Norman Brown. The live television images that James shot were played on the Jumbotron live television screens.

James’ career has spanned nearly 30 years and has included providing live television coverage for many clients. These clients have included The Weather Channel, all of the US television networks, and many local television affiliates.

James enjoyed meeting with Kirk Whalum, who he interviewed in 2011 for a project about Kirk’s marketplace ministry.  The entire Lea Creative Group creative team looks forward to the possibility of working with Kirk again in the very near future. Kirk tells us that he has some exciting projects in the near future, including some music videos.  Take a look at his site to find out more about what he is doing.

James also used Maestro J’s Canon DSLR to shoot some footage of his performance on Sunday while running the live television camera at the same time.  While it was a bit tough to run two cameras at once, James enjoyed lending a helping hand.
